Happy New Year!

What the hell, I'm home, it's New Year's eve, let's review.

  • Favorite Moment in your life this year? Telling Attila she was going to have a new baby sister- she was so surprised and happy.
  • Favorite Story in the news? Probably the Chilean Miners
  • Favorite Movie? I only saw a couple in the theater... maybe Harry Potter?
  • Favorite Song? The Curse by Josh Ritter. Love.
  • Favorite Album? Too many; Mumford & Sons, Brandi Carlisle, Avett Brothers
  • Favorite Book? Hunger Games (I know, I know- but really it was good!)
  • Favorite new TV Show? Parenthood or Modern Family
  • Favorite new gadget? My new Canon camera, but I love my phone too.
  • Favorite new recipe? Huh. I am completely stumped and can't think of a thing at the moment...
  • Most fun thing you did? Going to Sedona, AZ with Bullinger.
  • Best decision you made? Firing a teacher that I hated working with. I should have done it long before.
  • Thing you are most looking forward to in the new year? Driving a mini-van, that will be so hot ;)

This is Why I'll Never be an Adult

You know how sometimes you come across something on the internet and you are suddenly struck with clarity and understanding? And a feeling like you are not alone in this big crazy world? That happened to me when I read this:

This is Why I'll Never Be an Adult

Every time I read it (and it's been dozens now) I can't stop laughing. Clean all the things?

Bizarro World

Attila* and I did some garage sale-ing on Saturday morning (And even though it was a city-wide sale we didn't have any luck. Attila bought one pony for .25 cents.)

But at one of the last houses we went to, there was a mom out front and her very blonde daughter had a little lemonade stand. The mom commented on Attila's new shoes and we told her where we got them when she turns around and says, "Hey Attila, do you like this little girl's shoes?"
:0!
So I said, "Your daughter's name is Attila? So is mine!"
Turns out, her Attila is also 4, and also won't go to Kindergarten until 2011 (their b-days are 3 months apart). So the mom and I keep talking about any other Attilas we've met before and while we've both met some, they have never been the same age (nor looked so much alike!).
When I said something like, "It's nothing like being a Jennifer..."
To which she says, "My name is Jennifer too!"
To which I said, "Shut up. It is not."
But yes, yes it really is. (you saw that coming didn't you?)
Turns out she ALSO has a 16 month old (but he is a boy), and our little ones were born only a week apart.
It was pretty unbelievable and I was a little afraid to ask about her husband's name.
We exchanged a few more pleasantries and then I had to escape the multiverse before I fell in and was stuck there forever.

*It cracks me up to do this whole post with her pseudonym
