Went to A's wedding (aka the Heathers wedding) on Saturday and it was lovely- even though the rain made them have it inside. (Which might have been for the best since my heels that I so carefully selected for their wider, un-stiletto style still sunk into the grass when I walked.) I think that A was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen, she was just glowing and her dress was perfect for her. The groom's family was so nice, and I really do think they are going to be very happy together. Yay for internet love! The Heathers were pretty funny (and let me just say here that they are both very nice people and we all got along just fine) but there were a couple of times during the ceremony that I thought the two of them might come to blows over who was going to hold the bride's bouquet, or who was going to fluff her train. It was quite amusing. I was the slacker bridesmaid since it took the longest time for them to do my hair at the salon, and I didn't do any train fluffing, and the only bustling I did was on one of the Heather's dress. (yes one of the bridesmaids had a small train on her dress too). But I did give an impromtu toast because Jen + 3-ish glasses of wine+ open mic = improv! ;) I tried to keep it short and sweet and funny and hopefully didn't make a fool of myself. A good time was had by all, excepting my feet- the poor things are still recovering. Also, I am apparently too old to stay out dancing and drinking until the wee hours of the morning, I felt like I was in a fog the whole next day.
Here's a photo to prove all the fun:
I am really frustrated with my camera lately. (And no, it's not because I was drunk, because I am pretty sure that is me, the red blur to the left there...)
And that is sad, since my digital camera is only 2.5 years old. It takes beautiful photos but doesn't do well in low light and or high speed situations. With an 8 month old baby, just about everything she does is at high speed. It's impossible to catch her sometimes, so I have hundreds of those-would-be-cute-if-it-wasn't-blurry pictures. There has got to be a camera that is faster & better. So I've been drooling over the digital SLRs like the Nikon D70 (or D50) and the Canon Rebel- both of which are pretty high end cameras. But I probably don't need to go quite that high. More research is needed.

Sounds like a wonderful time! Too bad for the blurry!
Mr. Kluges and I were going to get ourselves a digital camera for Xmas last year, but then we got one from my brothers. It's super... AND we didn't have to do all the headache of trying to pick one out. I LOVE it. It's got settings for things like sports (high speed multi-shots), museum (no flash), sunset (I dunno, but it works), and stuff like that. It's a... let's see... Nikon Coolpix P2. Love it and use it way more often than I've ever used a regular camera.
Hooray for A's wedding! If you have any less-blurry pictures, I'd love to see them next time we get together.
I'm thinking the Nikon D80...
