Today I got all the presents wrapped. Yay! Of course, not all the presents are bought. Boo!
Yes, 7 days before Christmas and we still have gifts to buy, cookies to bake and I have to figure out what I am going to serve my parents when they come over for dinner on Christmas day. I do have some presents en route to my house though. Yay for online shopping! Yay for free shipping!
So far, my MIL has not yet cancelled x-mas. She does sound a little stressed though. I can't wait to see the new kitchen!
I do have pictures of the armadillo hats/costumes, I just have to download them, so you have that to look forward to. This week, I am trying to build Dickensian era bonnets for the production of A Christmas Carol. It's much harder than you would think. Especially when one is trying to build them as cheaply as possible. Cardboard does not easily form to the shape of the human head. (I know, I thought it would too.)Hopefully, they won't be too hideous.
We celebrated Attila's first birthday over the weekend, and I can't believe she is a year old already. Seriously, it was yesterday that we brought her home, sat down, and I looked at Dude and he looked at me and I said, "Um... now what?!?"
She is the absolute joy and light of our lives and it's so cool to see her personality emerge. She's not walking yet, and I think that helps keep her a "baby" for a little while longer. If she was walking AND it was her birthday, I suspect I would be a crying mess right about now. Her Nana bought her a little wooden rocking chair and even though her feet barely come to the edge of the seat, that girl LOVES to rock that chair. I was so surprised that she knew how to rock it, but she figured it out right away. It's too cute.

Aw! Yay, cake! Happy birthday, Attila! Today she figures out the rocking chair; tomorrow she takes over the world.
Wow, that is a lot of cake on that baby. Happy birthday Attila!
