If I was in charge...

The Cobert Report would be on during nap time. Or hell, even some Real World Denver re-runs. I would even take some Law & Order, but now that HGTV has changed it's afternoon line up- there is really nothing on during nap time. Nothing. It's awful. Not that I have a lot of nap time to waste, but sometimes you just need to sit down. We were lucky for a long time in that Attila never really noticed or cared about the TV. She would maybe watch it for a second or two, but even children's shows with giant singing dinosaurs, she didn't really care about. Then over this past weekend, we noticed that she can really *watch* TV now- with that nice distant stare and the drool and all. heh. (She was watching 3 Amigos with her Dad. She's a big Steve Martin fan.) Anyway, it's been the end of carefree TV watching when she is around.

Also, a few weeks ago, I was reading a Nora Roberts crime novel that my MIL had given me, and it was pretty schlocky and a quick read, but every time something happened to progress the plot I heard the "dun dun" Law & Order noise in my head. I couldn't turn it off. And I don't even watch much L&O anymore!
(There was a skit on SNL this weekend too about the actors who audition to be on L&O and they had to do the readings like they do them on the show and to the "dun dun" chimes. It was pretty funny- did anyone else see it? I will have to see if it's on youtube yet. )

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. 2007 has been quite a year for us so far- just lots of ups and downs that have kept us on our toes. I'm hoping that we'll be back to more of an even keel very soon.

P.S. It was on Youtube, but it's since been removed by NBC and not yet (if ever to be) posted on their site.

I was going to suggest TiVo so The Colbert Report could be on whenever naptime happened to be, but then I remembered that TiVo and Dude probably don't mix.

I share your hope that 2007 evens out for you soon!

Comcast On Demand has become my friend. Not only can I watch something on the rare occassion both kids are in bed, but I can also pop up a Sesame Street if needed.
