First, it was the Violent Femmes in the Wendy's commercial -and now, I just heard the Pouges being used as the soundtrack for a Cadillac spot. What the hell?
Please please don't do this to the music of my youth. Please please go back to using baby boomer music. Everyone loves the Beatles - stick with them! I haven't heard Hendrix used in a while... What about the Beach Boys? (Remember when they used "Good Vibrations" for the Sunkist commercials? That was genius) Or hey, there are lots and lots of up and coming hipster bands, use them! I am sure they would love the extra royalty money. Just keep your grubby commercial paws off the music that I listened to when I was impressionable. It doesn't make me want Wendy's or inspire me to go out and buy a Cadillac. It makes me want to puke. So just stop it.
Thank you, my name is Jen.
