AKJ and the "Deathly" Dilemma

Harry Potter should be here soon. I am a little disappointed that he hasn't shown up yet. Though last time he came to visit, he didn't show up until just before dinner, so I guess it's to be expected.
I am torn about reading book 7. Sadly, I haven't made it through the first 6 books yet, and I really wanted to read them all before starting the last one. Having a toddler and running a business has really cut down on my "Reading for Enjoyment" time. (Back in Jr High, we had mandated "reading for enjoyment" time, I think it was once a week? Everyone had to stay in their homeroom and read. Lots of people hated it, but I loved it. It also gave me time to write and read long dopey notes to my boyfriends.)
It's helped my aging memory a lot to read all the books back to back. I'm currently on book 5 (HP & the Order of the Phoenix) and I did see the movie, but there are parts of books that you just can't (and shouldn't) put into movies.
So do I just continue on my path and read the last of the books before starting the new one? (letting Dude read #7 first) Or do I just read the new one?
On the one hand, I can't wait to read the new one. On the other hand, I don't want to have to go do some back reading when I am done (which happened when I finished #6, I had to go back and read parts of #5). And on that same hand, I am worried about maintaining media black out while I work my way through. So maybe I should just read the new one.
See? It's a dilemma.

Bad idea, Jen. Would you tell someone to watch Jedi before seeing all of Empire? That's dumb. Drink one of your fruity mango chutney cokes, and finish 5 and 6.

Truth: I haven't read any of 'em yet. But I have the audio books and keep planning on it. I am sure that I will have the ending spoiled before i read it. And with that fact, I am at peace.

See, I'm a skip the end kind of girl, I would just go ahead and read it. You're just rereading afterall. Speaking of which, I'm finished, but I promise not to share.

Wait, you already read 6 and just have parts of 5 left? I don't see the problem. Read the last one.

Yeah Syl- I read #6 when it came out, so I am just re-reading really. It's not like I would be totally lost or anything.
But after yesterday I am only about 150 pgs from the end of #5 so I think I'm committed to reading through.
