Cooped up in the Arctic

Usually cabin fever doesn't kick in for me until February. This has been a bad week though so I think it's come a bit early. What with the cold temps (it's currently -8 and is supposed to get to -15 or -20 degrees tonight- and no, that's not the windchill, that is the actual temperature.) we've been spending a lot of time inside lately. Add on to that that Attila's had a nasty cold this week, I think I am fighting the same crud off, and our early childhood class doesn't start up again until next week, and that all equals way more time at home than usual. I'm getting a little tired of it. My husband though LOVEs it. Lives for this kind of weather. Makes him feel alive blah de blah blah.

I made more of those love boats. (m&m/hugs/pretzel candy things.) Only this time I made them valentine themed. The m&ms come in red, dark pink, light pink & white. I put two m&ms on each candy. My little pea brain would allow any color combination except two white m&ms. Two reds or two pinks was fine, but I couldn't make any with two white ones. That would just be wrong. OCD much? I really shouldn't have made more, because they are so addicting, but I intend to give more of this batch away.

I went to the Dr today only to be told I didn't have strep. They didn't even look at my throat to tell me what I might have, just that I didn't have strep. Thanks. Very helpful. Grrr. (It's my own fault for not speaking up, but with the 2 yr old in tow I did just want to get out of there.)

I can't believe that Eddie Vedder didn't get an Academy Award nomination for his soundtrack for "Into the Wild." I recently bought it and I love it. (I haven't seen the movie). It won a Golden Globe and is nominated for a Grammy, but the Academy thinks that "Enchanted" deserves three nominations?!? Eddie was robbed.

Oh and um, I went to Target again. BUT it was a different Target, not a super, AND I was just doing a return, so I didn't buy anything. They gave me money- for a change! And I couldn't combine it on an earlier trip because my mom just gave me the receipt, and it expires before my next scheduled Target date- So it totally doesn't count right? (Though I guess I still felt the need to "confess"... you can see why I really did need to make this a resolution.)

Trips to Target in which you don't buy and only return definitely don't count against the resolution.

And hey, it's supposed to be warm this weekend. Join us for x-country skiing or take Attila sledding or whatever strikes your fancy. Cabin Fever reprieve in just a couple days!

Target trip was completely justified & no purchases definitely makes it ok. Yay, willpower!

I'm in on the Target trip too. Totally justified.

We're also getting a little feverish here, and we're tired of being sick. I'm considering the sledding this weekend.

I have to leave the house once each day no matter how cold. I serioudly don't understand staying inside all the time.

It's 50 here today. Wanna visit?
I don't think your trip to Target stictly to return things counts against you at all.
And, last time I had strep, the doc told me I didn't have it because it didn't look like it. I told him I never have sore throats and I wanted a test anyway. Guess who was right? Yep, me. Always push the doctors for more if you have doubts. They don't like to admit it, but they can be wrong LOTS of times.
