You know how I love quizzes...

I took this one, called the Enneagram test. Only two questions, and for me, the results are fairly accurate. I'd never heard of an Enneagram before, there is more info here at the Enneagram Institute- but honestly I haven't read it. It sounds like a lot of mumbo jumbo to me, ymmv. Anyway here is a list of my results: (see what I did there? ;) My comments in purple.

Your Enneagram type is NINE (aka "The Mediator")

Peacemakers are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union with others and the world around them. Yeah, yeah who isn't or doesn't though?

How to Get Along with Me

  • If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially don't like expectations or pressure. OMG, 110% true, ask my husband... or my mom, or anyone who has ever been my roommate...
  • I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advantage of this.
  • Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit.
  • Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge me gently and non judgmentally.
  • Ask me questions to help me get clear.
  • Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery.
  • Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings.
  • I like a good discussion but not a confrontation. Very very true.
  • Let me know you like what I've done or said.
  • Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life. Or get out of my damn way.
What I Like About Being a NINE
  • being nonjudgmental and accepting I still need to work on this in some areas
  • caring for and being concerned about others
  • being able to relax and have a good time Me? nah! :) But then again, who doesn't like this?
  • knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around- SO true! :P
  • my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good mediator and facilitator
  • my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and now
  • being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe - go with the flow? yes. One with the universe? depends on the day
What's Hard About Being a NINE
  • being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive check
  • being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline check
  • being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally check
  • being confused about what I really want check (sometimes)
  • caring too much about what others will think of me check
  • not being listened to or taken seriously - not too much as an adult, but as a kid, yes.
NINEs as Children Often
  • feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant
  • tune out a lot, especially when others argue
  • are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves
NINEs as Parents
  • are supportive, kind, and warm- Again, too general, this is true about the majority of parents I think.
  • are sometimes overly permissive or non directive- they say this like it's a bad thing...
If you take the test, leave your number in the comments- I'm interested to see what you guys are too.

I am a six as well. I think it fits me pretty well except I didn't come from a bad family situation - on the contrary.
I wish I could get hubby to take it but he hates these things...

I'm a 2, and it seemed pretty accurate for the most part.
