End of term shows are tomorrow

And I am procrastinating taking a break - so how about a little holiday meme?

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Depends on if I am pressed for time or not. I am one of those people that actually enjoys wrapping so if I have the time, I wrap. If I am in a hurry, it goes in a bag. Usually for Christmas I make the time to wrap. I always have plenty of wrapping paper on hand and I've actually not bought paper the last 2 years in a row now. I may be due to hit a post holiday sale. Also, in my world, Santa wraps.

2. Real tree or Artificial?

Artificial. I love real trees, but hate the hassle and the mess. (plus I already have a dog and toddler to keep alive and clean up after, I really don't need a tree too). I love our fake tree. It's huge and easy to put up.

3. When do you put up the tree?

Either the weekend following Thanksgiving or the first weekend in December- whenever we get to it.

4. When do you take the tree down?

Whenever we feel like it, there are no hard and fast rules. (another reason we went artificial)

5. Do you like eggnog?

No not really. I prefer my holiday drinks warm.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?
The year I was 9, my Grandmother decided that all the grandchildren were getting one giant box of presents, rather than individually wrapping everything. (there were only 3-4 of us at the time)
That in itself was awesome because it really was a GIANT box, but mine had the rollerskates in it that I really really wanted. They were high, white, with 2 orange stripes and orange wheels. AND my grandmother made some of those pom-poms to tie on the toes. So cool.

7. Hardest person to buy for?

My Dad and my Father in-law

8. Easiest person to buy for?

Attila

9. Do you have a nativity scene?

Nope

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?

Mail. I like doing that too.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

I'll just say that there have been some that clearly were very last second thoughts and given out of "obligation ". Honestly, I would rather get nothing than a re-gifted set of kitchen towels from the dollar store.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
Christmas in Connecticut
A Christmas Story
& Elf

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?

July...if I see something that is just perfect (or more likely, a really good deal). But I usually don't do the bulk of it until November/Dec.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?

I don't think so- other than to an office gift pool or white elephant exchange or something

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?

Cookies.

16. Lights on the tree?

Yes - the last few years we've had all white, but I like multi-colored too.

17. Favorite Christmas song?

Good King Wenceslas
Winter Wonderland

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

We stick pretty close to home- but we are lucky enough to live near all of our family.

19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Yes, and its Donder and Blitzen.

20. Angel on the tree-top or a star?

Star. It's silver. I am considering a star that is a little more flashy and lights up, but we've had the current non-flashy one so long I don't know if I can replace it.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

Santa doesn't come until after everyone is asleep- so we do morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?

Holiday decorations & music before Thanksgiving. The way people stalk you for your parking spot.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?

Huh? I guess snowflakes. We do have a lot of moons and stars on our tree as well...

24. Favorite food for Christmas dinner?

Cookies

25. What do you want for Christmas this year?
Hard to say. Everything I really want is too expensive or intangible. It's hard being a grown-up!

Well, that was a good :30 minutes! Also during this time I settled an argument with the husband about the lyrics to "Up on the Housetop". He thought it was:
"Ho ho ho, Who wouldn't KNOW" & I thought it was
"Ho ho ho, Who wouldn't GO"
I was right! ;) Google saves another marriage.
