Random pet peeve

People who say "nip it in the butt"  (or  worse, type it)  rather than "nip it in the bud"

But what if they actually mean that they're going to nip something in the butt. Who are we to judge their sexual habits?

"Something," Big Daddy? I'd hope at least "someONE!"

But "Oh, Butt-nippers!" might make a good fake swear.

Ms H- Sweet ginger pickles! You are onto something there... though maybe it's more of an insult;
"Pick a lane and stop swerving all over you butt-nipper!"

I like it! I need more fake swears, I fear I'm going to get sloppy if I'm not careful.

how about those who say this is pacific instead of specific, and really believe they are correct???

People really do that? Really? Wow.

I like (or rather don't) "cover all the basis." That doesn't even make sense.

"reoccurring" is not a word, as long as we're all throwing in our peeves.

And I'm totally using "butt-nippers" in traffic tomorrow.

What about the misuse of the word myself. As in "How are you doing?"
response: "well, and yourself?"
And then, "Bob gave that to him and myself." Maybe I've just noticed it more lately. Even the NPR people screw it up!
