Sick (& Tired)

I keep thinking about things to blog about and then I go lose my gumption because I am sick. I have a terrible cold- seems to happen to me every year at this time. It sucks. But this year it really sucks because I am nursing and can't take any medicine. Cold medicines tend to dry everything up and I just don't want to take the chance and lose my milk supply, so I am a miserable snotty mess. Oh the sacrifices a mother makes. Someday when Atilla is in college and calls me to whine about being sick, I will remind her of this particular misery.
Baby Atilla is not sympathetic about my cold at all. In fact she's chosen to decree that there shall be no more napping. Not in the crib, not in the swing, no where. And if she does accidentally fall asleep for a moment, then I have to sneeze or cough or breathe and she wakes right up again. (usually she can sleep through anything, including the dog barking) She has a new cry to help enforce the no napping decree, and it's kind of a closed mouth screech. Halfway between a screech and a moan. It sounds like maybe there is a problem with her starter and the engine won't catch. I'm going to have to take her to the shop.

P.S.: Thanks to my sister "annonymous" for demonstrating the dangers of drinking and blogging. Don't take the risk people- it's just not safe. (and just be glad that us Brooks girls are Happy drunks. ;)

I don't have a cold -- it's more along the lines of pressure. My ears were making these weird crackly noises when I got vertical this morning, and my throat feels like I've been doing that bullfrog thing with it. Good luck with yours -- I'm taking enough DayQuil for both of us, I think.

Yeah, the no meds while nursing SUCKS! And you can't even have a hot brandy lemonade to help either! You could try some plain old hot lemonade with honey... it'll give you some vitamin C & throat-soothing honey & hot liquids, which are all good & allowable while nursing. (unless you were just venting to vent...)

Kitten gave us colds too, albeit pretty minor. But, yeah, can't take anything with meimei on the the way. It's threatening to turn into a wicked sinus infection, like all of my other colds, though.

But Pants has skipped right over the DayQuil and has hit the NyQuil like he contracted the plague. Poor baby. Must be difficult being so pregnant with a cold and taking care of the kid all the time and attending a demanding job everyday. Oh wait, that's not Pants...

I'm off the DayQuil, and the stuff at the top of your blog is flashing at me. It's supposed to, right? ;) Luv your mad skillz.
