When one learns a lesson the hard way, I feel it is their duty to pass along this lesson to others so they may not have to learn the same very hard lesson.
If you are using a stand mixer do not attempt to break the eggs directly into the batter bowl. You are better off breaking them into a seperate bowl and THEN adding them to the batter. Otherwise you might drop half of the shell into the batter, while the mixer is mixing, and the mixer will not stop when you yell. "OH! NO! STOP! STOP!" And then you will have egg shell mixed in with your banana bread batter and you will have to start over. Because no one needs that much protein.

Yeah, hadn't learned that lesson yet, so I'll take it from your experience. My lesson for the day - ask more than one person how long it takes to get to the airport (even if they sell train tickets), add at LEAST a half hour on to that time, and NEVER fly stupid Ryanair who have no sympathy when you show up with toddler in tow thirty-SEVEN minutes before the flight & they close check in 40 minutes before the flight.
