WHY, WHY does Kirsten Dunst keep getting work? She is a horrible actress and seems to have no idea how to play a character. I hate to say it, but she is worse then Gwyneth Paltrow. Worse. And yet- Sophia Coppola (who is her own bucket of weird) has cast her in 'Marie Antoinette' in the leading role as the queen. She's playing the Austrian queen, living in France, in a period movie and Kirsten sounds like she is reprising her role from 'Bring it On'. "Ready? Ok!" Why no diction? Why no accent? Why not even TRYING? Remember when Kevin Costner tried to play Robin Hood? This looks worse. Worse.

Yeah. She just. Isn't right at ALL for the part. She's like... like a high school girl dressed up for a big fancy Halloween party... who keeps saying things like, "Oh My God, you guys! Look at Steve! Isn't he HOT!" And apparently the only way she knows to express excitement is to jump up and down. Umm... not very... royal?
I'm just mystified, too, AKJ. Maybe Sophia Coppola needs to organize her inner Sybil.

I had to change mine now that Juliette Lewis isn't acting anymore (AFAIK), so now it's Katie Holmes. Not because of the Tom Cruise bucket of weird, but because she can't act, and she gets cast in movies that I otherwise really want to watch and enjoy (Batman Begins, Thank You for Smoking), and her twisty, slidy mouth creeps me out.
