I had a dream last night that Syl of Watching Paint Dry fame and her family had decided to move to Iceland. Yes. Iceland. The happy part was, we were going to visit them, and in fact were going to make a tour out of all our friends that lived in Europe in the "I" countries. So we were also going to see Ms. Huis and family in Ireland. But I couldn't for the life of me remember who we were going to see in Italy. It was someone, a close friend, but I couldn't remember who. (Maybe it was supposed to be Airlea since she just honeymooned there?) We decided not to go see Matt & Sharon, because we wanted to wait until they were settled in Amsterdam, but also, they did not live in a country starting with the letter "I" so they were OUT.
I am pretty sure this is a result of daydreaming about visiting Ms. Huis and also listening to the stupid Rick Steves' "Europe through the Backdoor" presentation that they always run during the MPR pledge drive. I listened to it two separate times this weekend. I am one of those sad MPR listeners that doesn't even turn the station during pledge drive time. I still listen to it as long as I can stand it because I love me some news and talk radio just that much. Pathetic isn't it? But I did learn a little something about our friend Rick Steves. Apparently, he is a card carrying member of NORML and smokes quite a bit of weed. Scandalous! But I bet it makes him more fun to be around, he always sounds so hyper on the radio.
