Well damn. I missed my arbitrary self-imposed deadline of posting before midnight for "today" but I haven't been to sleep yet, so for me, today is still "Sunday" so I am still getting in a post for "today". I can meet the spirit of the rules, if not the letter. Can I use any more "air quotes"? (incidentally, yesterday one of my students told me that she was going to the "Science Museum" after class for a "Birthday Party" - and she did the air quote thing right where I have indicated. She is 7, so this was pretty hysterical to me and I said, 'What? Don't you think they have real science at the "Science Museum"? Is it not really someone's "birthday"?' And her Dad explained that she has been doing that a lot lately. Ever since she saw Dr. Evil use finger quotes in Austin Powers. It reminded me of that episode of friends where Joey was doing the air quotes and didn't know how to use them either.)
I missed my deadline because I went to a teacher/ coworker get together thing. This is a group of women who are all currently teaching or have taught together at one point over the last 10 years (ack!) So we have a lot of weird kid stories and some other funny things that other people (husbands) just don't get - so it's fun to get together and just laugh and let off some steam. Also, to eat pizza. I tried this potato pizza from Pizza Luce that had mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, bacon, & tomato on it. It was essentially potato skins, but on a crust. (and on my thighs) It was yummy though! It even came with sour cream.

I also discovered today that my oldest students? They were born in 1995. I know, I know, this is just going to get worse as I get older, and there is no use torturing myself, but seriously, I've been legally drinking for their entire lives! It just doesn't seem possible that that much time has passed.

Ok it's pretty obvious here that I am posting just to post and I don't have a lot to say so I am going to go to bed. The count in the title though refers to the number of words I have written here so far this month. (I have to see if Kashka is right, that I could do 25k without even really thinking about it. I think I am a little behind but if I make it, I have no excuse not to do NaNo next year.)
