I get to be sappy today

Happy 5th Anniversary to my very sweet husband, Dude.
Back when we were still planning the wedding, I said to him, "Hey, you know, since we've already been dating for 5 years, by the time we celebrate our 5th Anniversary, we will really be celebrating 10 years together." And then we laughed like big dorks because that was sooooo far off in the future.
Like anyone else, we've had our ups and we've had our downs, but through it all, it's always been fun - we are usually able to find the humor in any of those down times which makes them much more bearable.

The traditional gift for the 5th anniversary is wood. We didn't do gifts, just cards, which once upon a time were wood so that counts right? We went out to eat at our anniversary restaurant and I was pleased to see that they had some new items on the menu. I was sad though that I burnt my tongue on hot coffee this morning, thus rendering my tastebuds useless for the rich chocolate dessert that I ordered. I thought it tasted funny, not really chocolatey at all- but Dude said it was very chocolatey. Such a waste!
And then we did something that we haven't done since before the baby was born. (no, Jay, not that!) We went to an actual movie, in the movie theatre! We wanted to see that Will Farrell movie, but missed the start of it (due to the dessert that I couldn't even taste) so we went to see Borat instead, which was more funny than I expected it to be. Of course, some jokes were just lame or went on too long, but mostly I found it pretty funny. It was like a real date and everything. Well, ok, a date that you already know a lot about. But still. It was fun.
So Happy Anniversary Honey- Here's to many more years together! I love you!

Congrats! And congrats on getting to a movie.

Is it wrong to want to sleep through it, even if it's a really good movie?

Why is it that everyone assumes that my mind instantly jump into the gutter?
