Done

Four bags of chocolate chips later and I am ready to declare myself done.
The presents are bought, the presents are wrapped, the food is bought, the cookies are baked, the Oreo balls are dipped, the decorations are up, the sidewalk is shoveled, the laundry is done and the stockings are hung by the chimney with care.
I am a little afraid to jinx it, but I am officially done with the preparations and ready for Christmas to begin. (and anything that I forgot by this point, well, screw it.)

I remember being in college and my mom telling me how stressed she was about the approaching holidays and all she had to get done. I just couldn't empathize. I remember thinking "Why stress? Buy some presents and bake some cookies, it's fun!" And although I still try to keep that mentality and only do the things for Christmas that I truly enjoy doing, her comments are starting to make a little more sense to me now. Sorry Mom.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a happy and peaceful weekend.

Oreo balls?!? Aaaah! The trauma! Please explain what an oreo ball is so I can stop thinking of what they have been in my experience.

Congratulations on being ready with all this time to spare! You rock the holidays. I hope now you can just sit back and enjoy it. Merry Christmas! :-)

Oh no! You are thinking of that weird thing your old roomate used to do aren't you?! Ew!

These are one of the easiest, yet most requested things I have ever made.

Oreo Balls
1 pkg of Oreos
1 8oz pkg of Cream Cheese
About 3 bags of chocolate chips or other chocolate for dipping. You could get fancy and use
white almond bark too if you wanted.

Put the cookies in the mixer (or a food processor) grind them up into very small pieces.
Add in the cream cheese, mix until well combined. Use a melon baller to form balls and scoop mixture onto a cookie sheet. (use parchment paper or no stick foil on the cookie sheet) Refrigerate balls while you melt the chocolate over very low heat. Use a fork or a toothpick to
dip the balls into the melted chocolate, put back on cookie sheet and refrigerate. You can eat them straight from the fridge, but they are good at room temp too. :)

Yum, yum, yum! And here I just finished the package of Dulce de Leche oreos that my TNGreatAunt went to us! Those would have been carmelly good in that recipe!

Hmmm...haven't seen oreos here - might have to try with something else 'cuz that looks easy, tasty & delish!
