Sorry for the lack of posting- The Dude started his new job this week and it has wonked our routine all out of whack. Which is kind of surprising, since really, our routine is more of a suggestion than an enforced schedule or anything. But still, change is change and it takes some getting used to. He's got his own car now - though I don't believe he's named it yet... (Have you hon?) But we actually had a pretty good experience at the Toyota dealership- everything was priced just as it should be, and they even came down a little bit, so I was happy about that. (Though I was ready to be all sharky on the salesguy and he just didn't give me a lot to work with. Which is really for the best, but I love being the wife-who-has-done-all-the-research
-and-is-ready-to-negotiate). Before he switched jobs, he was getting home by 4:30 everyday- which was fantastic, he gave Attila her dinner and I got a little break and could make our dinner. But right now, he's getting home at 5:30-6:30 -somewhere in there. It should even out once he gets up to speed and he can have different hours and possibly even work from home sometimes, so I am trying my best to remember that it's temporary. Though this morning, we were supposed to start our second semester of baby class, but Attila overslept (and so I overslept too) and we didn't make it. Which is too bad, because I was really looking forward to going, but I can't complain since it was an extra hour and 20 minutes of sleep and I sure needed that.
I got my sales tax paid today too! yipee! Thank god for being able to file and pay these things online. Hopefully, I also did this one correctly. *fingers crossed* I may even give up my search for an accountant (I've been turned down by 2 and out priced by 2...) and just try to use the tax software. We'll see.
I did watch the Jeopardy! with a certain Nate M on it. It was pretty funny, and Trebek seemed to actually like him. (not that anyone wouldn't- but Trebek always seems so jaded and bored with the geeks) I've got it on tape for Kashka (and anyone else who wants it after her) I will try to get it out to you by the weekend K. I think it's pretty great that he made it on the show and won a decent amount too. He's been trying to get on there for at least 10 years so it's nice to see anyone meet a dream they've held for so long, you know?
A few years ago Big Daddy and I ran into him in line at the Jeopardy! tryouts when they were here in town. It was at one of the downtown hotels and we all had to wait in line and then go in to a big room in groups and take a written test. I don't remember how many questions there were- maybe 50? Big D was the only one of us who scored well enough on the test to move on to the second round. He got to go into another room and be video taped and answer some questions out loud. I think they told Big D that he would be added to the "maybe" list of contestants and the producers might call him. Something like that. I don't remember very well. However, I do think that Big D would make an excellent Jeopardy! contestant. He should try out again!

Thanks, AKJ -- I did manage to catch both nights. By walking over to the Czaringer/Bullnowski's right after class, I was there in time for it. Summertime asked me, "Aunt Temp, why does Mama want us to be quiet for the man in the purple suit?" On Thursday, my History prof let us go just early enough that I could catch the right bus and get home just as it was starting.
My friend Weiland, who also has excellent J-potential, tried out again on-line last week and hasn't heard back yet.
That's hilarious, because I totally pictured him wearing a purple suit on the show.
As I recall, those tryouts were for The Weakest Link, not Jeopardy. Jeopardy scares me. Call me a coward if you will, but I want to be on a game show where I'm up against morons. :P
