What I want to be when I grow up

Do you get the Title 9 catalogue? It's a women's sportswear company that is based in Colorado, and they have stores in Colorado, Oregon, Washington and California. They have all kinds of cool (though expensive) clothes that I would love to have. But more than that, they advertise a life I would love to have. All the women featured in their catalogue are supposedly real women and not models. They all have short little bios written about them- For example:

(here is a better link about the model athletes)
Some are moms, some are single, some are young, some are older- but they all seem so cool and interesting and beautiful while still seeming to be real people. Oh, and they typically have cool names, though there is the occasional Jane or Mary or whatever. Of course they are all photographed in their active and interesting lifestyles - I imagine that as soon as they are done surfing or climbing that mountain over there that they would just love to join you for lunch and margaritas. And while at lunch they are going to talk animatedly about their last kayaking trip in the Yucatan.
I like to think I am pretty jaded and critical when it comes to advertising. Or at the very least I think I am able think critically about advertising and not just be blindly seduced into buying the latest doo dad. But still- I want to be a Title 9 woman. I want to look like them and dress like them and be one of them.
And now, I just had a genius idea and I really want to go and make up my own little bios for all my cool women friends...hmmm...

Dear AKJ,

You know that the A in your chosen name could be replaced with Adventure, right? Because you lead all of us on exciting adventures that we would have otherwise never have undertaken? Yes. You. Rock climbing. Sea kayaking. Rope course. Trail riding (I know you didn't get to be there, but we wouldn't have been there without you starting this whole thing). Skiing.

And you own your own business. And you have an adorable little girl. You are not so very far from being one of those women. Don't sell yourself short, my cool woman friend!

My bio:
Occupation: Testing software at a world class data protection and security corporation
Avocation: At the moment - building a green home using the latest technologies
Languages: American English and a smattering of French
Favorite word: lapis lazuli

thanks Ang- you are right (as always!) I just need to start running or something like kashka did. Or hell, parking at the far end of the parking lot would help. Gah.
