Mom: You are really good with her, I honestly don't know where you learned to be such a good mom.
Me: Well, I watched a lot of TV growing up, I think I picked up a few things.
Mom: Right, you learned it all from Caroline Ingalls.
Me: And Meredith Baxter Birney!
Mom: Meredith Baxta-who? What?
Me: You know, from Family Ties... Meredith Baxter Birney? The Keaton family? Alex P. Keaton?
Mom: *blank look* what?
Me: Never mind
Mom: No tell me!
Me: Um...The theme song ended with the "Sha la la la"?
Mom: Oooohhhhh yeah- the weird Republican kid...And wasn't the daughter hooked on diet pills once? And she had that weird boyfriend?
Me: yes! That's the one.
Mom: What did you learn from her? She obviously wasn't a very good mom...
