Why doesn't anyone listen to me?

Remember when I told you that the Cavemen were working on a pilot?

Geico's Cavemen May Get Own TV Series

The potential series... features the cavemen as they "struggle with prejudice on a daily basis as they strive to live the lives of normal thirty-somethings in 2007 Atlanta."
Yeah. ABC picked it up for the Fall. Preview is here. But it's really not even worth watching. It's bad, you've been warned. (and it looks like the makeup isn't even as good as it is on the commercials).

They also gave the green light to the horrible Grey's Anatomy spin off, "Private Practice". *sigh* Though I guess they almost have to since rumor has it that there won't be anyone left on the original show.

Back when I used to work in TV we used to get so excited when the network pilot tapes came in the mail. Once they arrived we would set aside a whole afternoon for screening and got to order pizza and beer. (Yes, I used to get paid to watch TV and drink- those were the days man.) Then we had to wait a month or two to see which ones actually got picked up and which ones didn't. It was hard to tell what was going to be a hit, especially if a show takes a few rewrites or cast changes to find it's legs - but you could always tell what was going to bomb. They stink from a mile away.

It looks seriously horrible. Bright spot though, I just read their new show info and found out that my friend's partner has a show mid season. (Miss Guided) Woo hoo!

...wow. Clearly we need new careers as the people who decide which shows to greenlight, because we'd do way better than this.
