Things that are just excessive

  1. The amount of hair on my dog. We have a lab/border collie mix and he is super cute, but OMG the hair. Now that it is finally spring he is shedding like crazy and I may drown in the amount of hair he leaves just lying around. Today I got out the ferminator to try to help the situation, and I swear I combed enough hair off of him to make pelts for 6-10 smaller dogs. (thats 2-3 dogs of his size.) I gave up for today, but he is nowhere near done.
  2. Asian Beetles. I know I have complained about them before- but seriously. These things are turning into the bane of my existence. I bet Gwyneth Paltrow loves them. We really only get them in the addition on our house, and really only on the one western facing window, but they are so annoying! I could vacuum up 24-30 bugs only to turn around and find 2-3 more that were hiding. Every day it gets warmer and warmer there are more and more. I can't stand it- yet I can't find where they are coming from or I would have sealed it long ago. These things "hibernate" over the winter then come out when it warms up, then they die apparently. They don't do any damage, or breed or bite or anything so they are harmless. Harmless, but gross. All day long Attila finds them and yells "Bog! Bog! Clean it up!" She doesn't mind looking at them, but won't touch them.
  3. The amount of leaves in my yard. We did rake last fall, why are there still leaves?
  4. The number of times Attila wants to read a library book entitled "Arrrrrggh! Spiders!" It's a cute funny book- the first 183 times you read it. The title kind of gives away the plot though.
  5. The number of times my DH has informed me that the new Indiana Jones movie opens on May 22nd. I think he might be a fan.

Never, ever, visist my folks. They have a cat that (I'm really not kidding here) produces a sweater's worth of fur a day and so many lady bugs you just couldn't believe it. She has a specially designated, full-sized, vaccuum she uses for them. It fills quickly.

At least your DH didn't sneak a web gadget onto your blog page to help you keep track of when Indie opens.

That might just be the best title of a children's book yet!

You must be too good at reading it. Read it dull and boring and she won't ask again.

Oh! I've got a good trick. Now that she has it memorized read it wrong and see if she notices. My mom LOVED to pull that trick on us!

As far as the leaves go-- Maybe they think they're being helpful by mulching your yard? :)

Does your mower mulch? I would just mulch them, its you know, earth day today. Sounds good to me.

Tis the season for grooming, by professionals. Tess get her haircut recently and I love it.

I can so share in the misery that is dog hair! I have a yellow lab and the shedding at this point is ridiculous. Why does she have to grow a winter coat? She stays inside all damn day, every day during the winter! The poor girl has been kicked out of the house until I can clear up all the hair from my home. It's ridiculous how many times I've vaccuumed and I'm still picking up insane amounts of hair. I love her but there are times I just want to shave her and make her look like the dorky dog of the neighborhood.
