Random Wondering

You know how you can have a completely different perspective on the same situation than someone else? Usually it's a co-worker, family member or friend and they are re-counting an event or an occasion in which you were both present but they have an entirely different take on the scenario. Or the motives. Or the overall point of the meeting. I realize that often in the retelling people exaggerate for dramatic or comedic effect, but sometimes it leaves me wondering if I have missed something entirely.
Has this happened to you? Is there a word for it? It seems to me that it should have a German word like doppelganger or schadenfreude. (I had to use spell check for both of those) Something like frauchdenhangermeier .... Anyone?

I've always just called it "Rashomon", after the movie I haven't seen, but which I've been lead to believe is about that sort of thing.

I just called that "that disturbed thing my brother does to trip me up."

"Roshomon" would be a good term, the movie really is about that. I would also highly recommend this movie... In a quality kind of way where I think others would like it, not just me like the bad movies.

Hey! I've seen that movie! I just didn't know/remember what it was called :) It is really good. Rashomon it is (I guess literally it means "castle gate" or "gate of the dragon" - but it was the name of the gate to Kyoto) I will try to let go of Rashomon-nugen.

I just saw your comment on my blog and somehow I missed the post where you announced your pregnancy! Congratulations!!! And congrats on finding out it's a girl. I absolutely love that Avery has a sister now and I can't wait to see how they will play with eachother (right now Hadleigh is just the baby that takes attention away from Avery!) Congrats, congrats, congrats!
