Outsmarted

Because she is two, Attila never holds still. She is constantly moving, dancing, hoping, jumping, running, spinning, whatever. Unless she is asleep, she has something to do and someplace to go. She wakes up in the morning and says, "Where we go today Mama? To Class? Want to go to class?" Uh, yeah, I kind of do, because they have coffee and mommy time there, but class ended 2 weeks ago babe. (luckily, we have a good group and we just meet at the park in the summer time, but still, that's not until tomorrow.)
So, since the internets were broken here this afternoon and I couldn't do some work I was planning to do, I decided that since it was so nice out, we would walk to the library. I thought it would take about 30 min, (around 1.5 miles or so). In reality, it took us an hour just to get there. (I think it's actually closer to 3 miles, but I have no idea really since we took the trail through the park) Anyway it was a long, blistering, walk. (not blistering hot, blistering for my feet.)
We brought the stroller along because I was worried that Attila would get tired after walking for awhile and there was no way I was going to carry her that far. I let her get in the stroller at the beginning, thinking that was better until we got across the busy road, and then she could walk for a bit.
"Attila, do you want to walk now?"
"No, I otay"

Weird, usually she loves to walk. After a little time I try again:
"Attila! Do you want to PUSH the stroller?!?"
"No"

And again:
"Are you sure you don't want to walk? It's fun"
"No"

And again:
"C'mon out, let's walk"
"No, I like to sleep"

The whole point of this was to wear HER out, not me! We did eventually make it there and stayed for about :40 min. and then walked back. Thankfully, she did walk quite a bit on the way back - though insisted on pushing the stroller "BY MYSELF!" even though she steers like a drunken monkey.
She was in her room talking to herself for 30- 45 min. after bedtime.
I am wiped out.

Ugh. Oh so much to look forward to. Sprout has started to not like containment. She has so much energy, its frightening. And she's strong.

Avery loves to be in her stroller and I love that too. When she gets out she is crazy and then I end up chasing her constantly... exhausting! And the moving constantly bit? Ugh! Avery never stops, I wish I had an eighth of her energy!

Oh, I remember those days. At least she walked on the way home. Don't think the energy will vanish either, Peanut's 7 and she still never sits still! At least she's too big for a stroller now so we can ALL get worn out.

I think Mom deserves a nice, long bubble bath as a consolation prize!
