I have posts in drafts again that I just haven't posted because I keep saying "I'll go back and finish that" and then I don't. So, for your uh... "entertainment", a list.
- "Mulan" the musical. Not easy to stage.
- No see, now I am stuck. I don't really want to blog about work- but that's where I've been, working on summer workshops. One week down. 2 more to go in July. I'm avoiding work right now, I don't want to talk about it.
- Attila went to daycare while I was working, she loved it. Loves the kids, loves the teachers, especially loves the rabbit. Doesn't eat much there, but at least they got her to nap.
- We made it through 4 days before she got sick. Expected, but still a pain.
- I was reading some of Ms. H's old posts about Pumpkin when she was around Attila's age and it's funny how similar some things are. I was reading about Pumpkin moving the chairs around to reach out of reach areas. We get that all the time for about the last 6 months. (most notably after we got her a child's table & chairs set.) It really made me laugh, and it's amazing how much Pumpkin has changed since then! Very cool to see.
- We have vacation time scheduled at the end of summer and I can't figure out where we should go or what we should do. We really only want to go for 4-5 days, so it can't be too far or too $$. Briefly thought of Seattle (even though I think Temp will be gone by then) But 37 hrs on a train with a 2 yr old doesn't sound fun to me. Found a great rental up by Lutsen on VRBO, but then they wanted $225/night. Not so great. I just want to go somewhere where I feel like I am on vacation. Is that so much to ask? Anyway, I am open to suggestions.
- My mac is in the shop and I am so anxious to get it back. It's either going to be a $25 part or a $500 part. Please cross your fingers that they call and tell me it needed the $25 part! (If it needs the $500 part, I am afraid it won't be repaired. *sniff*) I never expected to be so attached to a computer of all things- but I totally am. Dude said it was my R2D2. I laughed but that about sums it up.
- Suggestion: Don't drink diet coke near your laptop. I know it seems like a good idea. You think you can control your beverage at all times- but really, it's just not a good move.
- This morning, Attlia asked me, "You alright Jennifer? It'll be ok." Then she patted my arm. She's been listening to her dad. I don't think I was even upset.
- Finally have Wicked tickets. Yay!
- I forgot to return some videos to the library last week. You can rent then a week at a time, so I didn't think the fine would be too bad if they were a few days late. Yeah. 2 videos at $1/day. Whoops! Ah well- it goes to a good cause at least.

Four days sounds just about right. If you're us, it never ever ends.
We're going to Chicago via train in September. Got a roomette to make the 8 hours easier, but hotels are expensive... especially if you went late August, due to colleges starting up. You could go for a lake cabin up by where I grew up in Ottertail county. I hear it is nice.
Rabbit? Varmit I tell you, every last one.
4 days, huh? I'm expecting various sicknesses to hit Pumpkin throughout 4K since she hasn't done the daycare-immunity-marathon. At least she's well past the put-it-in-her-mouth stage!
You know, _I_ should go back and reread sometime... Appreciate the growth and progress and think about what I can be looking forward to with Penguin.... Also, the "fall down, bonk head" crib escape post always makes me get the giggles.
You're more than welcome to come visit us at the House of 42 Doors! We've LOVE to have you We've got a guest room and lots of toys and I know some fun places to take kids around the area... Give it a think, 'k? (But we'll certainly wouldn't be offended if you'd rather do a more "vacation-y" vacation instead.) Oh, you could do something like combining a visit here with a stop at WI Dells coming or going... See the plans I have for you! :)
*fingers crossed* $25 part, $25 part, $25 part...
Along with "don't drink diet coke here your laptop," may I add, "don't set your glass of dark red wine on the upholstered arm of the couch ever, for any reason, no matter if it's just very very briefly while you grab your book." Thankfully I was able to sponge and Shout it out.
On-line library renewals, baby. They rock.
re: last two item.... i saw wicked on broadway 2 years ago and LOVED it. even my husband was drawn in. but oddly enough, i don't remember any of the songs. on the other hand, when i saw Oklahoma performed at my high school, it made such an impact on me that i got the record (LP) of the cast recording from the library and taped in onto a cassette so that i could listen and memorize the songs.
the same for fiddler on the roof and kiss me kate. what is it about those musicals?!
that is exactly how i feel about library fines. every little bit counts.
just as long as they have the book i want when i want it!!
Try something local - Pipestone? Itasca? Some obscure small town with a cheap rental on a lake? Not so much with the driving, then.
