Tomato free

I know it sucks for those of you who like tomatoes on your food- but for me, the girl who is usually picking them off of things- I love that no one is serving tomatoes right now. It's like a alternate jen-iverse in which tomatoes never existed as toppings.
That is all.

I had to through away the last half of a Roma tomato. Apparently the ones we ate were not contaminated with Salmonella since we are both ok. Just got lucky I guess....

Meh, tomatoes aren't any good this time of year anyway. Enjoy the hiatus. I can't wait til August! *sends happy grow thoughts to tomato plants*

I'm with AKJ - no more having to guess if it comes with tomatoes and remembering to ask for item sans. I hate when they're not listed in the menu description but some as some kind of weird garnish. Like a fun surprise.

You tomato haters... don't know what we're going to do with you.

On news of the recall of sorts, I promptly went out and put some fertilizer on mine. Sucks, but that is what they make farmer's markets for.

Ummm, last I saw, it was 170 cases out of...let's see...300,000,000. That puts your odds of getting salmonella at roughly .000056%. Of course for people like Jen, the odds are even lower. All the more reason to grow our own.

I *heart* tomatoes but the ban isn't really having an effect on us. We're growing our own this year... which should be interesting as I have no green thumb whatsoever! At least I know they'll be salmonella free.

You can just claim you are being an environmentalist as commercially grown tomatoes and strawberries use chemicals that deplete the O-Zone layer.

I'm with you! I don't care for tomatoes either (although I'll tolerate them on a BLT or whopper). I take them off of everything else, it's nice not having to pick them out of my salads!
