Has anyone tried the Thin Mint blizzard?
Is it as good as I am imagining? Or not so much?

Who's driving your bus?
Has anyone tried the Thin Mint blizzard?

It has tons of cookies in it. It's super minty. So minty that I had a hard time eating the chicken fingers I got with it because it made them taste minty for the first couple of chews. But the fries went awesome with it -- salt + sugar = super yum! I couldn't finish the small one I got, probably because of the chicken and fries. But my verdict is: YUMMY!
I'm a huge thin mint fan and had the exact same reaction as you upon hearing about the Blizzard. It didn't hold up to my expectations. They put a minty sauce in with the ice cream that makes the mint a little too overwhelming or inauthentic.
I also, some time ago, ran across some Thin Mint Edy's Slow Churn ice cream that I got very excited about, but was not impressed with that either.
I'm not sure the yumminess transfers. It's a simple cookie. I think that's part of it's charm.
I agree with Erin - didn't hold up to the idea of it.
I tried the same Edy's slow churn thin mint and had to throw half of it away. However, your post made me realize that I haven't seen a single Dairy Queen in 6 months. Not a one. Thank goodness for the power of the internet, I know now that there is one not too terribly far away. Must not be as trendy as the "Pink Berry" ice cream shops which the Hollywood crowd is currently crazy about.
I liked it for the most part, and it did taste like the cookies for me except for one thing. Either it has a really weird banana component or they didn't clean the blender good enough between things.
I love mint, so I'm pretty sure I would like it. However, i can see if they add extra mint it would fail to be a summer substitute
You can always just get it and ask them to leave out any extra mint. I used to love making up my own blizzard recipes. Drove the dq pretty girls crazy.
