November 2

It just occurred to me that it is going to be difficult for me to post on election day. I am serving as a judge, so I am doing a 15+ hour shift on Tuesday. Not much time for blogging. So I am going to have to either figure out how to do a remote post (which would be kinda cool) or I am going to have to learn to pre-date a post for later posting. It will be thrilling either way, I am sure.

And while we are on the subject of Election day, let me just categorically state that I hate polling. Polling is flawed- there are just way too many factors and I don't think it's possible to ever come up with an accurate outcome ahead of time. Polling is always self-selecting, so you will never get a true read of the public's opinion. Sure you can get close-ish, and guesstimate, but what is the point? I don't think it's helpful to the voting process in any way. Especially when you are still polling within days of the election- why not just wait until the election is held to see how it will turn out? I hate exit polling too. I'd rather just wait for the actual results. (though I will still be calling my husband on election day so he can tell me how things are going...) Sorry, just have to vent.

We completely wasted a super nice day here today- but tomorrow is supposed to be really nice too, so I am planning to get some furniture primed, painted and varnished. Should probably try for some yard clean up too but that seems really ambitious. Especially since our trees still have leaves on them.
