This is the Twitter story I was trying to tell (tweet, I guess): my free time. I mean our family time.

Miscellaneous notes
Dude:What do you want? (I was sick)
Me: I just want some sympathy
Attila: I'll get some sympathy for you Mama! (gets up and runs off)
Dude: Do you know where we keep it?
Attila:Yeah, there's some sympathy in the bathroom, I can get it myself!
(we give each other that silent parenting look that says "Did you teach her this???" She gets in there and we hear nothing.)
Me: Are you ok?
Attila: Mama! The sympathy is GONE! We are all out of sympathy!
Me: Oh no...
Attila: (coming back) It's ok, Mama, I got a tissue for you. (hands me a kleenex)
She was kind of right! (I think she was looking for the box of Advil that had been sitting on the countertop, also kind of right)

Finished Workshop Week and made it out in record time! The kids actually put on a great, solid show. The audience was kind of reserved, but I think since it was a "revue" style show, no one knew when to applaud. The teachers and I tried to help where we could but didn't want to be obvious about it. I am so spoiled working with the same team of teachers year after year. They are fantastic.

I feel a little weird being "done" with Summer workshops already. Though I have lots of projects that I have been saving up that I need to get working on. #1 Putting final coats of varnish on kiddie table, #2 organizing pictures into the multiple frames I have stacked up. There's more, but if I start with those two things I might get something done.

Mitusbishi cars should really have a light that says "your gas cap is loose" rather than making the "check engine" light come on. Not that that has happened to me. Or that I have had to pay $45 for the "diagnostic check" to figure that out. But I've HEARD that that could happen and it would be super annoying.

I hate that the grocery store that has the "car" carts does not also have adequate space for a baby carrier. It doesn't fit in the regular seat part, so the carrier has to go in the basket (which is smaller than normal to compensate for the "car") So then I am stuck trying to pile groceries in around the baby, and everyone gives her these sad pathetic looks that say, "You poor thing, your mom just piles cheese and frozen goods on top of you" but the toddler will not accept using a regular cart if there is a car cart available. And I've tried using a carrier/sling for the baby, but then it took me forever and a day to pack the groceries. It is causing me mom angst. Yeah, I could grocery shop sans children, but that seems like a waste of

I adore the sympathy story. :)
I've done the pile-the-groceries-around-the-baby-in-car-seat thing, too.
I saw the ads for the Tagalong Blizzard & just about got up right then to go find my nearest DQ! :) That's definitely on my to-do list!!!
Seriously, a Tagalong blizzard? Why have I not heard of this down here in Tucson??
I cannot tell you how often we exchange the parenting look that says either, "Did you teach her that?" or "Oh lord, can't wait to see where this is going."
Also, I hear Auto Zone will run the diagnostic check for free when the light comes on.
tag-a-long blizzard?!?
i wonder if it is coming to NJ!
...I'm pretty sure tagalong is a Girl Scout Cookie, but I couldn't tell you what flavor.
The "sympathy" thing cracked me right up. How cute!
And yeah, that car business would be super annoying if it happened to you. They should totally get on that before anyone falls victim to it.
I miss DQ!
