I am waiting for some music to finish downloading so I thought I would do a little post about some things.
- I am getting seriously backlogged on music. I keep finding new things that I like, or rediscovering old bands/artists that I liked and it's getting difficult to keep up. I mostly listen to and bond with music in the car and I just don't spend that much time there lately. Most of our trips are fairly short and it's been too nice out even for some of those! I find that if I am at home (and multi-tasking) I want to listen to something that is already familiar, not new stuff. So I kind of have to take it on the road first, bond, and then I can listen to it in the kitchen. I am no music floozie.
- Clearly, a road trip is in order.
- Also, I have a whole CD set of songs from the 50 states that I have to listen too :) (Thanks nejyerf!)
- Did someone say road trip? >
- I tried to sew a dress for Attila today. I've had the project bookmarked for about a year or so, and I finally tried it since a friend of mine said it only took her an hour. That friend is WAY more familiar with a sewing machine though and has more craftiness in her pinky finger than I do in my whole body, so my version is a little, um... rough. Frankly, it looks like it was made by orphans. For other orphans to wear. However, I am going to chalk it up as a learning experience and try again. The next one will be better. And now? Now I know how to whip up a girl's dress out of a man's shirt. That might come in handy- you never know. (I will post the link and my outcome, but that is going to be it's own post.)
- We're actually planning a trip out to see the Huis family (yay! looking forward to it!) but the Dude is coming too and he and I do not have very similar taste in music. We have some overlap, but our versions of "driving" music are different. (which is a little weird, before I met him I would have said that similar taste in music/bands was a prerequisite for getting on my bus. *shrug* ) Plus, Attila has started having some requests of her own as well. She has decent taste, but still, it looks like the shuffle will be coming along too.
- Speaking of Orphans, after seeing the awful commercial for that horrible looking movie one too many times, and knowing we weren't ever going to go see it, Dude looked up the spoiler. OMG. Laughable. So it must be true.
My toast is up, gotta go.

6. SQUEE!!! I'm so excited! It'll be so nice to see you four. Hooray!
Also, um, Mr. Kluges started peeling paint in the guest room again, so it'll likely still be patchy-looking... unless we REALLY kick it in high gear. Still very definitely usable, safe, but ugly.
5. I've seen that project & think it looks intriguing. However, I NEED to get my sewing machine in for servicing as it's performance is very iffy right now.
Yeah, I saw the original Spanish version called Huérfano. It was creepy, but in the end, ridiculous.
